Bring the Romance back in Flying
I found this video on the new Bangkok International Airport which opened 3 years ago. I’ve flown in and out of there several times and I must say it’s one of the most pleasant airport (and flying) experiences I’ve ever had.

Why can’t LAX be like this? Organized, clean, efficient, courteous staff… I know high fuel prices and airline cutbacks have had a negative affect on how people experience air travel, but there has to be a better way to deal with it. At least JetBlue reminded us of what flying should be like.

And Virgin America offers a little comic relief in their safety video.

These experiences remind us that traveling doesn’t have to be like herding cattle, packing sardine cans, a concert mosh pit, or whatever analogy one would use. Maybe I would just settle for a little dignity, flights leaving on time, and luggage arriving at the same destination. But if life is all about the journey, let’s see if we can make it a positive one.
